We are now excited to announce the second call for de facto members, who will play a pivotal role in advancing veterinary surgery in Asia. These de facto members will collaborate with other founding members to inspire a new generation of Asian veterinary surgeons.
Every de facto Diplomate of AiCVS must demonstrate enthusiasm for founding and supporting this nascent college. Alongside invited specialists, all diplomates will serve as founding officers of AiCVS, responsible for formally establishing and sustainably managing the college. They will also launch the residency training program and appropriate board examination system for the future AiCVS.

*Please note that the Japanese of Veterinary Anesthesia and Surgery will send the payment receipt. Our college's office has not yet been fully launched. and the society staff will continue to manage our member list and budgets for a while.
In 2018, a drafted constitution to establish of AiCVS was approved by Asian Board of Veterinary Specialties (AiBVS). Upon the approval, Dr. Ryohei Nishimura , the AiSVS President and Executive Committee assigned Dr. Kei Hayashi, an executive advisor, to invite members of External Credential Committee as the first step to establish surgery specialty in Asia.
In 2019, five world renowned veterinary surgeons from USA, Australia, Switzerland, and Canada were invited as members of External Credential Committee of AiCVS.
The board of the External Credential Committee then selected 6 Invited Specialists with Asian nationalities to form the Committee of Invited specialists. The duty of the committee is to select De Facto specialists from Asian countries.
The Invited specialists, along with De Facto specialists, will serve as founding diplomates of the AiCVS. They will formally establish AiCVS and initiate the residency training system as well as appropriate board examination system for the future Asian board of veterinary surgeons.
All candidates applying for the AiCVS De Facto Diplomates must demonstrate their enthusiasm in the founding and supporting the AiCVS. They need to devote their time and efforts to collaborate with other founding diplomats and be efficient in English communication.
The present announcement is the first recruitment for AiCVS De Facto Diplomates. The applications for the first group of AiCVS De facto members are specifically open to surgeons who are actively involved in clinical teaching and practice. The second call for applications will be open for all Asian surgeons in the near future.
