The 13th AiSVS (3rd AiCVS) congress was successfully held at AMAMS in Bangkok. This congress was held in conjunction with VRVC, which is organized by VPAT, and over 3,000 veterinarians, including 652 AMAMS members, gathered, discussed, and enjoyed the ceremonies. We have 12 invited lectures and 43 presentations from all around Asia, and have had meaningful discussions about recent progress in small animal surgeries and anesthesia. Soft Tissue Surgery: Dr. Krishaporn Kradangnga: Tracheal collapse, Dr. Nai-Chieh Liu: Otorhinolaryngology, Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome, Dr. Thitinan Tangarsasilp: Chylothprax. Orthopedics: Dr. Sun Young Kim and Kei Hayashi: THR and PGR complications, Fracture management/complications, Double plating/interlocking nail. 22 oral and 21 poster presentations. We also presented the certificates to the new de facto Diplomates of AiCVS. The list of them will soon appear on the members page. The next congress will be held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in late 2026.

The 12th Annual Congress of AiSVS/AiCVS was held from December 20 to 21, 2024, at the Sapporo Convention Center in Hokkaido, Japan. This is the second meeting after the launch of the Asian College of Veterinary Surgeons (AiCVS) in December 2023. 87 Veterinarians from all over Asia participated, and 584 Japanese surgeons gathered to discuss the latest developments in veterinary surgery. The invited lectures were held by renowned specialists as follows: Dr. Ming Lu, DACVS, UC Davis; Dr. Naomi Shimizu, ECVS, VES Hospital in Singapore; Dr. Changsu Jung, JCS Animal Surgical Center in Korea; Dr. Yongsun Kim, BON Animal Medical Center in Korea. We had 31 oral presentations and 33 posters, all of which were enthusiastically discussed. In the business meeting, we decided on the schedule and content of the announcement of the second call for the de facto Diplomate of AiCVS. The recruitment site will open early.

The 11th Annual Congress of AiSVS was held on 8-9, Dec, 2023 in Nagoya Convention Hall & Hybrid Studio, Nagoya, Japan. In the congress, 20 oral presentations and 30 poster presentations were reported. Unfortunately, the presentations were limited due to the large number of applicants. Active discussion was done within delegates and speakers in each presentation in these programs. On 9th Dec, Symposium "Leading the World: Future of Asian Veterinary Surgery" was held by 4 panelists; Drs. Grace Pei-Chun Lai, Ching-Ho Wu, Chalika Wangdee and Hiroki Sano. "Epidemiological study on patellar luxation in Japan" and "Radius/Ulna fractures and cruciate disease in small dogs" were presented by Dr. Akari Sasaki and Dr. Madoka Amano, respectively. On the noon, Special seminar titled "Gallbladder mucocele and cholecystectomy. Tricks, tips, and literature review" was presented by Dr. Satoshi Tokunaga and Keynote lecture titled "New era of mitral valve surgery in dogs" was presented by Dr. Masami Uechi. There was standing room because the seats were full.

The 9th Annual Congress of AiSVS was held on 23-25, Oct, 2019 in Shanghai International Sourcing Center, Shanghai, China within AMAMS2019. In the Surgical Session, Dr. Fossum, a world renowned veterinary surgeon, presented 4 titles of continuing education programs. Another Continuing Education Programs were presented by Drs. Kei Hayashi, Po-Yen Chou and Sun Young Kim. There were 34 oral presentations, and 30 poster presentations were reported. Active discussion was done within delegates and speakers in each presentation.

The 8th Annual AiSVS Congress was held in Taichung, Taiwan with 2018 Taiwan College of Veterinary Surgeons (TCVS) Winter Event. This congress was biggest in AiSVS history. Four Continuing Education Programs, 48 oral presentations, and 47 poster presentations were reported.

The 3rd AiSVS Meeting 2013 was held as one of the sessions of AMAMS (ASIAN MEETING OF ANIMAL MEDICINE SPECIALTIES including AiSVIM, AiSVDM and AiSVO) in Bogor, Indonesia, in December 2013. Date: December 13 -15, 2013. Venue: IPB International Convention Center at Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. Registration fee was 200-250 US $ for the 3-day-meeting (including meals). Continuing education programs and scientific paper presentations (oral and poster sessions) were held. Estimated number of attendants: 250-300 people from Indonesia. Shuttle bus from Jakarta Airport to Bogor was available, though it may take 1-2 hrs or more. Satellite workshop (surgical training programs as in 2nd AiSVS in Nanjing) was planned using dead animals before or after the Meeting.

The 2nd AiSVS (called as 2nd Conference) was held for Nov. 24-25, 2012 at Hanyuan Hotel in the Campus of Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing, China, collaborated with 19th Symposium of Society of Veterinary Surgery, Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (CAAV). President of the Meeting was Professor Hou, Jiafa, Nanjing Agricultural University and Vice Presidents were Professor Liu, Yun, Northeast Agricultural University, Professor Yang, Hanping, Nanjing Agricultural University (and former Secretary General of CAAV), and Dr. Nobuo Sasaki, President of AiSVS. Ten companies supported this Meeting. Registration started on Nov. 23. On the first day (Nov. 24) at 8:20 AM, the Opening Ceremony was held at the Main Room. Under the chair of Dr. Yang, Dr. Zhou Guanghong, President of Nanjing Agricultural University, gave a speech as welcoming the delegates to this International Meeting. The other main guests gave speeches to delegates. From 9:00, programs started at Rooms of 6th and 11th Floors. Continuing Education Programs were 13, among which 10 were held in English and 3 others were held in Chinese. Lecturers included 3 Japanese, 3 Taiwanese, 2 Koreans, 1 Thai, 1 USA and 3 Chinese. Oral scientific presentations in English were 28 among which 12 were from Japan. Unfortunately 6 presentations were cancelled. Scientific presentations in Chinese were 29. All the meals including lunch and dinner for attendants were supported by the Meeting. On the night of Nov. 24, the formal Banquet was held in a comfortable restaurant near the Hotel. In addition, a satellite program of wet surgical laboratory using dead animals or plastic models were held from the night of Nov. 21 to the morning of Nov. 23. Seventy-three including 5 Indonesian practitioners attended this program. Two surgeons (Drs. Tani and Sasaki) from Japan and two (Drs. Yeh and Lin) from Taiwan were the lecturers for this program. The attendants were quite active and many discussions were done within the program.
